Finding San Diego vacation photographers can feel overwhelming, especially when you don’t know the area. Many families want beautiful beach photos but don’t know where to start.  I felt so thankful when this family found me and trusted me with their vacation portraits. They planned their trip to San Diego carefully and wanted photos that felt relaxed and genuine.  We met at Carlsbad Beach in North County San Diego during the early morning hours. Morning sessions can be optimal for younger kids, especially for ones on vacation and dealing with a time change.

The kids arrived rested, happy, and ready to have fun. That energy always sets the tone for a great family session.  As you’ll see below, there were a lot of great moments that unfolded. We twirled, giggled and snuggled throughout our time together.   This session also included a special addition. Grandma traveled with the family, and they chose to include her in several portraits. Those images often become the most meaningful over time.

When families search for San Diego vacation photographers, they often worry about stiff poses or rushed sessions. I definitely focus on creating a fun, relaxed environment so this doesn’t happen.

This area of Carlsbad Beach offers soft sand, beautiful views and fewer crowds than many San Diego beaches. It works beautifully for family vacation portraits!
