WHERE IS YOUR STUDIO?

My home studio is located in the San Diego North County Escondido area.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO SCHEDULE A NEWBORN SESSION?

I suggest scheduling your session as soon as possible to ensure I leave an opening for you in my schedule.   I will put your due date on my calendar so I know to reserve some time in the week before and after your due date. Once baby arrives, contact me in whatever way is easiest for you (text, email or a call!) and we can schedule your session time and date.  Newborn sessions are best done within the first 2 weeks after baby is born, and the 5-10 day time period is even more optimal!

CAN I STILL BOOK A NEWBORN SESSION EVEN IF MY BABY IS OVER TWO WEEKS OLD?

Yes! I have had many successful newborn sessions when baby was a bit older.  You many not get as many curled up photos and patience is key as babies older than 2 weeks will most likely be more alert.  Your images will still be amazing either way!

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME FOR A MATERNITY SESSION?

Maternity photos are best done in your third trimester, between 28-34 weeks. You want to be sure your adorable bump is showing, but definitely don’t want to wait too long for a couple of reasons. One is babies come on their own schedule so we don’t want to miss this magical time! Second, the end of pregnancy can be uncomfortable (feeling swollen and exhausted is not the move!) so we want you feeling your best and for that joy to be radiating off of you!

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE WEATHER DOESN’T COOPERATE FOR OUR OUTDOOR SESSION?

Thankfully in beautiful San Diego, this rarely happens! But in the event of rain, don’t fear, I’m here to help you get rebooked to a better date.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY RAMBUNCTIOUS TODDLER DOESN’T COOPERATE?

I’ve got three crazy kids of my own so I get it.  After photographing little ones for over 13 years, I have a lot of experience wrangling small children and while they may not be perfect the entire session, but I have a lot of tricks up my sleeve to get them engaged and giggling for photos. I hope you will trust me and the experience I have and leave the stress behind!

WHAT IS THE BEST TIME OF DAY TO SHOOT?

Beach sessions are best done at sunrise (hello pastel skies!) or about an hour before sunset (hello golden delicious skies!) although this also depends on the the weather and cloud conditions  Outdoor sessions not at the beach are best done in the early morning or a couple of hours before sunset.

WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR TO OUR SESSION? WHAT TYPES OF CLOTHING SHOULD WE WEAR?

I suggest soft, neutral colors for newborn sessions. This way the focus stays on baby! Colors like cream, white, and soft pastels are perfect for newborn portraits.  For family sessions I am here to help you figure that part out. Once we’ve decided on a location, I’ll send you suggestions on what colors will look best.

WHEN WILL WE SEE OUR IMAGES?

This is the most exciting part of the whole process and I know it’s hard to wait!  Normal turnaround time is 2 weeks after our session.  I am generally working on multiple sessions at one time and I strive to deliver each gallery as quickly as possible.
