As one of the long-time beach photographers in San Diego, I absolutely love doing family portraits along the stunning coast! One of my favorite beaches for family portraits is Carlsbad beach.  I love the cliffs in the background and it’s just such a pretty area for pictures.  At sunrise, there is always soft pinks and blues in the skies and very little people to contend with.

This beautiful family was up bright and early for their sunrise session which made for some cold feet that particular morning!  Luckily they were able to warm them up and we had a lot of fun and giggles by the end.  One of my main goals in capturing families, is trying to capture emotion and connection.  I think we achieved that!
