Happy Hump Day everyone!!! I am excited to share this session from back in August of this gorgeous family because they were soooo much fun to work with. Not only were laid-back and ready to have fun, but they had THE happiest baby ever. Apparently, this little cutie did not smile for her prior photo session back in their hometown, but you would never know it after looking at these pictures. She was all sorts of smiley and was a complete joy to photograph.   And boy is she an exact clone of her daddy or what?!!??   

 

Ok, now I’m off to clean. I drank a Venti Iced Coffee this morning without eating any breakfast.  Caffeine Jitters galore over here!!!!

Let me introduce my cousin to you. . .her family is just one of those families you look at and think, “WOWZA, that is one beautiful group of human beings.” One might even be a little jealous looking at them because I mean seriously, how much prettier can you get? We had allll kinds of people stopping on the beach just to take a look at them. And you know what the BEST thing is about my cousin? She is SO down to earth and silly. Her and I are kindred spirits and always have been growing up. She makes me laugh and we have allllll kinds of crazy fun together. Their family moved away a few years ago and we sure miss them terribly. I am so lucky to have such a fun extended family. . .it makes life so much more exciting and laughter is always abundant when we are together. Yes, I put a lot of pictures of her dancing (she was modeling how to dance on the beach for her girls), but they make me giggle and I just wish I could have been dancing on the beach with her.

So, first of all, I haven’t fallen of the planet. . .yet, anyway.I have been busy with sessions, but more importantly I have been busy with summer fun and my family. Last summer I was so insanely busy that after spending most of it glued to the computer, I swore up and down I wouldn’t do that to my kids again. This summer has been awesome so far and it’s been so.much.fun to just be mom for much of it and take the kids here, there, and everywhere. We’ve been to Legoland, the beach, the park, the County Fair, multiple ice cream shops, tent camping and inner-tubing on a little river, and more! Next week we leave for Hawaii and I am just over the moon that we can take our kids there this summer. I can’t wait to show them the warm, beautiful blue water in Maui and just relax and have fun.

I’ve still been doing sessions and having a ton of fun with the families I’ve gotten to hang out with this past month and hope to share all of those sessions soon. I am SO incredibly blessed by the people I get to “work” with and they really make my job incredible. Here is one huge share of a recent beach session for an extended family over on Coronado Beach. They were all awesome to be around and we got some great images of their family together!

I talked about my un-project here in case you are wondering what I’m referring to! I took the kids to the beach last week and decided to get some fun shots of them while they played. We had a great time and the weather was beautiful! This week we took the kids to the snow. . .that’s Southern California for you! I remember going snowboarding up in the mountains as a teenager and then skiing out on the lake later that afternoon. Ah the joys of living in San Diego! Especially when you can say you’re at the beach enjoying the sun in your Facebook status and know there are a million people up to their ears in snow wanting to reach through the screen and choke you.I’m such a giver.

I had such a good time photographing this beautiful family and I loved how much fun they had too. We went cruising around the Hotel Del Coronado, ate some ice cream, and we had to play the ever popular kid game, airplane. Good times!! Let’s get on to the pics now!

First of all, here I thought I would be a better blogger this year and I’m already failing! :/ I so wish I was better at this, but life with three crazy kids tends to get in the way sometimes and right now they are my main focus, so I won’t make myself feel too guilty.

Second of all, I have been waiting to blog this great family for a couple of weeks and am finally getting a chance. I have watched Miss Sophie grow up the last two years and it has been so fun. She has grown from a teeny tiny newborn to an active adorable 2 year old in what seems like no time at all. For being two, she sure was an easy subject and full of adorable smiles as you’ll get a chance to see!!

Thank you S family for choosing me to capture you all this last couple of years! It’s been so fun to watch Sophie grow!!!

Well, as you can tell below, I’ve been a VERY bad blogger. So I’m trying to make up for it in one long post! I have been racking myself with guilt lately that I am not one of those amazing bloggers who always has something witty to say and a story to tell. But I’ve come to realize that I just can’t be that person at this time in my life. A lot of time and energy goes into blogging like that and I applaud those who can do it. Maybe someday I’ll be able to blog regularly. . .when all the kids are in school and I find myself with extra time (does that actually happen?!?!?). For the meantime, I hope you’ll take me as I am. Imperfect and trying to do my best in so many facets of my life. I guess that is what being a mom/wife is all about.

I think it’s so easy to lose grips with what this job really is for me. I get so caught up sometimes with everything else BUT the main goal, that it’s easy to lose sight of my purpose. As cliche as it sounds, I want to be that window to your soul and the person who stops time just for an instant. I look back at pictures of my “baby” (2.5 now!) and it makes me teary to think how fast this all has gone. He’s probably ready to be potty-trained and yet a piece of me mourns that I will have no more in diapers and that means there will be no more babies in our home. I can’t imagine not capturing those fleeting moments in his life, those stages that pass so fast. I love being able to do this for others. If you saw me smiling and giggling while looking through your session, you’d probably think I was nuts. But I get so involved in the emotion and joy captured, that it just makes my heart sing. That is my purpose. To give you the gift of a moment stopped in time. If your memory is anything like mine (terrible!), those moments and stages on “film” are priceless and something you can’t get back.

Enough with the rambling and on to the pictures!

First is Baby Nicolas! He was such an easy-going sweet little guy.

This gorgeous family was eager to have some photos of them all together on the beach. They were so much fun to work with and so laid-back and easy to capture.

Next comes little Alexandra who was so perfect and small. I had so much fun with her! Check out those amazing eyelashes!

This stunning family wanted some pictures of them and their gorgeous little 3-month old man, Damon. His momma looks like a super-model doesn’t she??

I’ll be showing more from these next four sessions soon hopefully!! One stunning infant, one deliciously adorable one-year old, and two photogenic seniors. How much better can it get?!?!?!

Remember this cutie I showed a few weeks ago?

Well, I’m finally getting around to showing some images from his beach session with mommy and daddy. One year old Javi was so easy-going and happy and gave me so many sweet smiles!! Gotta love a happy baby!!!!

Get ready for cuteness overload. These sisters were SO sweet to each other and I could tell they had the most amazing friendship and love for each other already. I had such a great time playing with them!

And big brother was not a fan of pics, but I managed to crack him a few time.

This gorgeous family is from Dallas and I couldn’t wait to meet them! Jennifer’s (mom) main goal was an artsy, fun family portrait. Yay!!! They were a blast to photograph and we had a lot of laughs. I even managed to break the teenager, Mitchell, from his teenager-ism (made up word) for awhile. He taught me some new lingo and we gave each other knuckles. . .I’m so cool it kills me. HAHA! Blaire, his sweet, loving, beautiful sister was so fun and full of energy and life. The only bummer was the weather, it was super gloomy and overcast. But I think it turned out just fine.

Seriously, how gorgeous are they!??!?

This one makes me giggle.

This was their equivalent to a jumping shot. . .love it!!! They are a sporty family so this fits.
