As you may have noticed (or not noticed hee hee), I have not been blogging much. I made a decision last year to give up a job that I had been doing online for quite a long time. There were many reasons for doing this and at the time I was so stressed about the decision. Looking back, I really see how God was involved in that decision from the get-go. I saw that everything does happen for a reason even when you don’t understand it at the time, and now I feel like the last 6 months has given me my sanity back. I used to spend so much time on the computer that I felt this weird pull to it. Granted, I was working and making money by being on it, but I felt like my life had become sucked into that computer screen. My kids hated it, my husband hated it, and I was starting to hate the person I was becoming being consumed by being stuck in front of that computer screen all of the time. I just felt super anxious and stressed and it was not good for me at all. I thought just because I had a great opportunity in front of me that I needed to take it. I now realize how much happier I am and how much happier my family is that I am “present”. I still am running my photography business and staying busy with that, which I feel SO incredibly blessed by. The month of January was filled with the most amazing clients who truly made me realize how lucky I am to have this business. But I’ve really taken a step back from the online/social networking/computer world. I know I need to blog my sessions once in awhile as it’s always good to get my fresh work out there for clients to see. But I’m finding a great balance and I’ve been able to really get involved more in my kids’ school/activities. I have an almost 4-year-old that I’ve been able to hang out with A LOT more instead of ignore for hours a day. God really has taught me a lot about what matters this past year. Many events, some tragic, have taken place that have showed me how important it is to be present in my life and to really cultivate my relationships with my kids, my husband, and my friends. Overall, 2012 has already been an amazing year just a little over one month into it and I look forward to seeing what the rest of the year brings. Sappy. . .yes? But I had to share it.

Me blogging this next family is WAY overdue!  They were so awesome to work with and it’s been great getting to know them.  Dad plays for the Arizona Diamondbacks and he gave us the awesome opportunity to watch his team play the Padres this summer.  They are a super gorgeous family, inside and out.  I also love the fact that they have a Brayden (the new little guy)  just like we do.

I know, I know. . .I’ve been a TERRIBLE blogger. I love showing off my clients and I feel bad I haven’t been doing much of that lately. Things have been so crazy and blogging has just had to be pushed to the back of the priority list, especially around the holiday time! But I do want to show a bunch of images from recent sessions. I am still missing some sessions (sorry to those of you I’m missing!) but I promise to try and get to them soon!!! For now, enjoy the beautiful people I am so lucky to get to photograph!

 

First up, Miss Tanya and her fabulous son, Jimmy.  They flew out here from Missouri for a little mother/son bonding time and we had a blast running around at the beach together. 

 

Next up is little Ava who was mere 4 days new at our session. . . such a sweet pea!

 

Then I had the pleasure of photographing this adorable family! The chunk on 4 month old Jack was so adorable and reminded me a ton of my boys at that age.  And his 19 month old brother was a total ham and such a little poser!

 

You may recognize these two cuties from their session last fall! They have grown a crazy amount and kept me on my toes! I loved seeing their little personalities really shine and their mom is the perfect mom for twins (Also, super gorgeous to boot!). <3

 

Little 6 month old Isabella was not into me at first. . .in fact, she screamed whenever I would look at her!! But as you can see, after awhile she sure gave me some adorable smiles.  Such a little cutie!

Well, my kiddos are back to school which leaves me with my last baby here at home. I am a bit sad he will go to preschool next year and I feel like time is just rushing by way too fast.It’s amazing to see how much they grow from the time they are a newborn until they are 3 like my little man. I just have to hold tight to the memories of when they were babies and snuggle my newborn clients extra hard. <3

Meet sweet Charlotte, she was just about 2 weeks at the time of our session back in July and definitely fun to snuggle. Such a gorgeous little babe and her big brother is gorgeous too. Their family was so easy to work with and had such great personalities which made working with them so much fun. So, welcome to the world sweet Charlotte. . . .

The kids go back to school next week and while I’m sooooooo sad summer is over as we’ve been doing so many fun things, I do feel a little excited at the prospect of being able to get things done again. One of those things is blogging a bit more. It’s been nice to really spend some quality time with the family so some things just had to slide and blogging was one of them. I photographed Kira back when she was just a few weeks old and it was crazy to see how big (and even more adorable!) she’s gotten. I love being able to see my little clients grow.Here’s one from Kira’s newborn shoot! You’ll see how much her baby sister looks like her in the pictures below.

These two are only about 15 months apart and normally I would say it would be crazy for having them so close, but you wouldn’t believe how easy going both of these little girlies are! Kira just sat and played quietly in my studio for two and half hours without a nap and around lunchtime when most kids are starving and crabby. She’s a superstar kid! Here’s a plethora of pics from our session!

Meet baby Ella and her gorgeous family. Ella’s grandpa is the Pastor of our church and we have been so blessed to have had him as our Pastor before my husband and I were even married. He’s baptized all of our kids and he is seriously one of the most amazing ministers to listen to. I love chubby babies and Ella (and her big brother!) are both so squishy and adorable!

This perfect, beautiful baby boy was such a sweet mix of both his mommy and daddy in my eyes. When he came back to see me again a couple of weeks later, I really saw his momma’s features starting to develop in his little face and I just think how much of a miracle it is that something so small and perfect can look so much like the people who created him. What a special gift from above it is to mix two amazing people in love and produce this amazing little human being. Life is such a gift and I’m so happy to be able to capture a new little life in what I do. They don’t stay like this for long and oh how I wish I had pictures like this of my first two. To be able to remember the small features, the flaky feet, the teeny lips. . .it’s such a beautiful thing!

This one makes me laugh. . .he’s looking at me like I’m some psychotic lady with a huge camera, probably because I was some psychotic lady with a huge camera lol.

Meet perfectly gorgeous Isla and her perfectly gorgeous family. I don’t have much to say except that I am so in love with these images and the love and joy that radiates is so amazing. And seriously how freakin cute is big brother??? Kristy is a very talented Long Beach photographer and it meant a lot that she chose me to capture her family. Without further adieu!
