As you may have noticed (or not noticed hee hee), I have not been blogging much. I made a decision last year to give up a job that I had been doing online for quite a long time. There were many reasons for doing this and at the time I was so stressed about the decision. Looking back, I really see how God was involved in that decision from the get-go. I saw that everything does happen for a reason even when you don’t understand it at the time, and now I feel like the last 6 months has given me my sanity back. I used to spend so much time on the computer that I felt this weird pull to it. Granted, I was working and making money by being on it, but I felt like my life had become sucked into that computer screen. My kids hated it, my husband hated it, and I was starting to hate the person I was becoming being consumed by being stuck in front of that computer screen all of the time. I just felt super anxious and stressed and it was not good for me at all. I thought just because I had a great opportunity in front of me that I needed to take it. I now realize how much happier I am and how much happier my family is that I am “present”. I still am running my photography business and staying busy with that, which I feel SO incredibly blessed by. The month of January was filled with the most amazing clients who truly made me realize how lucky I am to have this business. But I’ve really taken a step back from the online/social networking/computer world. I know I need to blog my sessions once in awhile as it’s always good to get my fresh work out there for clients to see. But I’m finding a great balance and I’ve been able to really get involved more in my kids’ school/activities. I have an almost 4-year-old that I’ve been able to hang out with A LOT more instead of ignore for hours a day. God really has taught me a lot about what matters this past year. Many events, some tragic, have taken place that have showed me how important it is to be present in my life and to really cultivate my relationships with my kids, my husband, and my friends. Overall, 2012 has already been an amazing year just a little over one month into it and I look forward to seeing what the rest of the year brings. Sappy. . .yes? But I had to share it.

It’s been a busy month over here! We went on an 8 day trip to Maui and sessions have been in full force since I’ve gotten home. I’ve met so many amazing and beautiful people in the last month. Here are some recent pics from the sessions I haven’t had a chance to blog yet along with a couple from Hawaii!!!!

 

 

These two are cousins and were so fun and hilarious. I have many more to share from their family shoot out on this gorgeous property!

 

These are cousins from a 16 family member session I did recently! This group of kids (a couple aren’t pictured as they are running behind this crew) were also SO much fun and we captured some really great moments.

 

This is Kalli at around 2 weeks old. . . isn’t she gorgeous?? She is the daughter of one of my best friends from back in high school!

 

Little Nicholas was an adorable 2 week old little man!!!! Loved his sweet, red lips!

 

These next two beautiful girlies are from one of my favorite client families.   I’ve been photographing them since little Caroline (below) was a newborn!

 

This little beauty came with her two bigger brothers to my studio for her 3 month portraits. . .we even managed some sleeping ones of her!

 

Aren’t they breathtaking?  Love this image of 8 year old big brother and his 2 week old sister.

 

I’m missing a few sessions that were this past week, but I hope to show some of those soon!!!

It’s been a hectic couple of weeks, but I’ve had some amazing sessions and I can’t wait to share them soon! I also had a great session with 5 day old Bryn who had the most adorable cheeks. She was a great little model and I had so much fun getting to snuggle her. I think you’ll all agree she is scrumptious!!

I’m looking forward to a busy and fun summer with my kiddos! We are planning on a lot of beach days and one big fun vacation!!!!! Have a wonderful week everyone!

Little Chase was only one week old at our session and he was seriously one of my easiest newborn babies ever. He was conked out the entire time and let me put him in a bunch of different positions without any qualms. Gotta love that!!! He also was scrumptiously cute so he was the all-around awesome package deal.

I had to post this first one just to show how big his feet are. . . this kid is going to be TALL just like his daddy!

Thanks Q family for having me capture this special time in your lives. . . little Chase is perfect and you both are so blessed!!!!!!

Our family has been blessed beyond measure with some amazing friendships. It really makes life so much more enjoyable when you can share it with those people. The family below has been a huge part of our life over the years and they mean the world to us. We’ve seen each others kids grow up and we’ve made some really amazing memories together. I know we’ll have many more years of fun memories to make and I am SO very thankful for that!

First of all, here I thought I would be a better blogger this year and I’m already failing! :/ I so wish I was better at this, but life with three crazy kids tends to get in the way sometimes and right now they are my main focus, so I won’t make myself feel too guilty.

Second of all, I have been waiting to blog this great family for a couple of weeks and am finally getting a chance. I have watched Miss Sophie grow up the last two years and it has been so fun. She has grown from a teeny tiny newborn to an active adorable 2 year old in what seems like no time at all. For being two, she sure was an easy subject and full of adorable smiles as you’ll get a chance to see!!

Thank you S family for choosing me to capture you all this last couple of years! It’s been so fun to watch Sophie grow!!!

Now for the good stuff! Meet the deliciously chunky, 8 week old (at the time of our session) Alia. Mom wanted some pictures of her and her sister too, but big sister wanted nothing to do with my camera or being by her sister for a picture. Two year olds are like their own little breed, aren’t they? The adorable factor is what keeps my 2 year old alive most days! (That’s just a saying so don’t be offended!) Now I did manage (with lollipops!) to get a few of Gianna by herself which I just love.Without further adieu. . .

Remember this cutie I showed a few weeks ago?

Well, I’m finally getting around to showing some images from his beach session with mommy and daddy. One year old Javi was so easy-going and happy and gave me so many sweet smiles!! Gotta love a happy baby!!!!

This gorgeous family is from Dallas and I couldn’t wait to meet them! Jennifer’s (mom) main goal was an artsy, fun family portrait. Yay!!! They were a blast to photograph and we had a lot of laughs. I even managed to break the teenager, Mitchell, from his teenager-ism (made up word) for awhile. He taught me some new lingo and we gave each other knuckles. . .I’m so cool it kills me. HAHA! Blaire, his sweet, loving, beautiful sister was so fun and full of energy and life. The only bummer was the weather, it was super gloomy and overcast. But I think it turned out just fine.

Seriously, how gorgeous are they!??!?

This one makes me giggle.

This was their equivalent to a jumping shot. . .love it!!! They are a sporty family so this fits.

So WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY back in December (seems like forever ago already), I took a short trip to Florida to visit a friend. I met her in a very unconventional way on a Ebay seller’s forum about 4 years ago. We became really close and we finally had the chance to meet. Let me just tell you that my weirdness and spastic nature have been unmatched in my lifetime. . .until I met Angela. She is a freak of nature and we are two peas in a pod. I nicknamed her Gateer and she calls me Nacle (as do many others). When I went to visit her, I also met one of her neighbors. She asked me, “So, how do you spell your name?” I said, “K-r-i-s-t-i-n”. She in turn replied, “Wait, I thought your name was Nacle”. I laughed so hard, I cried. Who in their right mind would name their poor child Nacle? Apparently, Angela calls me that all.the.time to her friends/family, so they just assumed that was my real name. Even her kid’s call me Nacle.

While out there, we had a blast shopping, eating, shopping, drinking coffee’s, shopping, eating, and drinking more coffee. I also was able to take some pictures of her and her four beautiful children. I am looking forward to another trip out to Orlando sometime this year!
