Little Sophie is one year old already! You may remember her from earlier posts when she was just a wee newborn and then an adorable 6 month old. I think I only had a few shots where she wasn’t smiling from this session. I love seeing my newborn client’s grow!!!

It’s the tale of two hero’s fighting for our country and falling in love in the midst of their venture. San Diego is just one of the many places Katy and Tim will be, and l am so lucky to have the chance to photograph a new part of their journey as they become parents. I cannot wait to meet their new little bundle of joy!
I made them kiss (a lot!) but I think Tim was super happy about that part of taking pictures. 
It’s hard to come into a session without knowing each other and feel the love for the camera right away. So I use various techniques, i.e. kissing and groping one another, to calm everyone’s nerves and in turn capture those real moments and expressions that really make a portrait come alive. I can’t tell you how gratifying it is to go through the pictures and be smiling from ear to ear. My daughter was watching me go through Katy and Tim’s pictures and asking, “Why are you smiling Mommy?” I told her it was because seeing other people happy and laughing made me happy too. This is the moment where you all go “Awwwww”.
What a crazy, whirlwind of a year! But I feel so blessed at what has happened this year and cannot wait to see what next year brings. We had a Christmas Eve church service tonight and reflected on the reason we are celebrating this wonderful time of year. As I closed my eyes and listened to one of the songs that was played, I couldn’t help but feel emotion well up inside at the magnitude of what Christmas is really all about and how it has impacted my life. So Merry Christmas internet friends. . .I hope it is filled with family, joy, and good food! xoxo.

This little beauty and I had to put off meeting due to the cough and cold virus hitting our family HARD! I didn’t want to take a chance and get her sick so we waited. Little Ella was almost 3 weeks old when I had the privilege of taking her pics. Isn’t she gorgeous??? Check out her eyelashes!
