And I have to admit that I get quite a giggle out of it. I wanted to do something different then I would normally do for a theme like this, such as one of my kids daydreaming in a field or sleeping in their bed at night. The other day my kids were watching a super-hero movie and Brayden commented that it would be “really awesome” to be able to fly in the air. How many kids dream about being able to do that?!? Probably most of them! So it only seemed logical to try and make his little dream come to life. Now, don’t judge the quality, but it was really fun to try and that’s what this project has been all about for me. . .pushing me outside of my norm. I hope you get a little giggle out of it too! Happy Friday!

Don’t forget to complete the circle! Next, stop on by the super amazing Jessica Drossin!

I’m a terrible photography project person. But I’m back on it!! The theme for our 26 Week Photography Project this week was “Takes My Breath Away”. It was a gorgeous cloudy day here in So Cal and a yellow field of flowers was calling my name. I only took 2 of my kids with me this time and got some amazing pictures of them having so much fun together. It’s funny how taking one kid out of the equation really settles things down around here. My oldest and youngest get along really well for the most part and they have the sweetest love for each other. One of the captures below from our little outing really did take my breath away. I am definitely printing this one and treasuring it forever!!

I’ll try and share some more from our little session together. . .however, you know how that goes with me!!

Don’t forget to go through the circle of others involved in this fun project. Next up is the fabulous Jessica Drossin!

When thinking about this theme, my mind automatically kept going to a dreamy image of a child engrossed in a make-believe book of some kind. Being a young girl and reading those “Once Upon a Time” books are such a great part of childhood and the dreams of what she will become one day.

I was an AVID reader at my daughter’s age and can remember reading whenever I got the chance (since we had really had no electronic devices way back yonder. . .those were the days). I stopped reading a lot of books after I had kids, but have recently gotten into a book club with some good friends of mine. It has helped re-introduce me to my love of reading which rocks. I adore how immersing yourself in a book can take you right out of reality and put you in a whole different world. On a side note, I read a book recently called <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Night-Road-Kristin-Hannah/dp/0312364423" title="Night Road" by Kristin Hannah">“Night Road” by Kristin Hannah and sobbed! My husband looked at me kind of funny, but it was a great book.

Anywhooooo, here is the image I took for this week!!!! I love how everything is green in our yard right now and I am always a huge fan of hazy back-light so I decided to create an image of my daughter reading one of her books about fairies.

I found some amazing light through our orange trees and captured this magical moment between my oldest and youngest. Even though my kids fight all.of.the.time, it’s moments like this that warm my heart and make me realize that they might love each other just a little bit.

I am normally very drawn to color and the colors of the sunset in this picture are amazing. However, the clothes they both were wearing from the day clashed big time and really took away from the magic of the image. . . hence, a black and white. Don’t get me wrong, I love a great black and white image, I just hate to miss out on the those fabulous, warm sunset tones.

I really could not have asked for anything better. I met so many awesome people through my business and while I didn’t get a chance to blog them every single session, I sincerely appreciate each and every client of mine. I am so thankful to all of you who chose me to capture your family this past year. I had so much fun seeing babies, who I photographed as newborns, grow up or families that I hadn’t seen for a year change so much! I am so thankful for all of my clients who value what I do and who have been so easy to work with. YOU all make this job so enjoyable and fun for me! So, thank you from the bottom of my heart to each and every one of you!!!

Here’s a taste of most of the sessions I did in 2011! I may have left out a few, but just take a look at all of the beauty I was so privileged to capture behind my lens this past year. I can’t wait to see what 2012 has in store! Happy New Year everyone!

P.S. I had a good giggle that there is only one black and white image in the whole series. . .I think I must be drawn to color??

We had allll kinds of people stopping on the beach just to take a look at them. And you know what the BEST thing is about my cousin? She is SO down to earth and silly. Her and I are kindred spirits and always have been growing up. She makes me laugh and we have allllll kinds of crazy fun together. Their family moved away a few years ago and we sure miss them terribly. I am so lucky to have such a fun extended family. . .it makes life so much more exciting and laughter is always abundant when we are together. Yes, I put a lot of pictures of her dancing (she was modeling how to dance on the beach for her girls), but they make me giggle and I just wish I could have been dancing on the beach with her.

He was conked out the entire time and let me put him in a bunch of different positions without any qualms. Gotta love that!!! He also was scrumptiously cute so he was the all-around awesome package deal.

I had to post this first one just to show how big his feet are. . . this kid is going to be TALL just like his daddy!

Thanks Q family for having me capture this special time in your lives. . . little Chase is perfect and you both are so blessed!!!!!!

So awhile back, I did a post about things that made my day and things that broke my day here. I thought it might be fun to do that again and I had high hopes of doing it every week, but alas, I have issues with staying on any kind of schedule or regimen (cough. . .exercise. . .cough. . .eating healthy. . .cough. . .personal picture projects). It’s how I roll. Today I’m doing it for the whole week instead of just things for the day because let’s face it, my days aren’t always all that interesting.

Things that made my week:
1. Coffee-time with Friends. Oh how enjoyable it is to sit for hours on end chatting about anything and everything. Sometimes I wish I could go back to the era where the women hung out all day and cooked and knit. Only, I would switch the cooking and knitting to eating delicious food that is terrible for you and singing karaoke on the Wii.
2. My new Camelbak Water Bottle. I hate drinking water, but this bottle makes it a little less terrible. The bite valve is kind of like chewing gum and makes you keep drinking water because you can’t stop biting it. Or maybe that’s just me.
3. The cleaning lady came this week. Nuff said.
4. Mongolian Grill food. This stuff is SOOOOOOO good and so fresh. Oh yea, and there is a Starbucks right next door. Now that is smart marketing for freaks like me can’t get enough beef and coffee.
5. Finally finding the culprit of the odd-smelling object in the car. It was a sippy cup of old milk lodged under the back seat. Being a mom is super glamorous!

Things that broke my week:
1. Salon de Kristin Rachelle. So I thought it would be an awesome idea to dye my own hair this week. I know for most people, going to the salon is like a mini-vacation. But for me, it’s the biggest pain in my butt there ever was. So I venture into Sally’s where there are a couple of really old ladies working who know NOTHING about hair dye. Oooooooook, alrighty then. I blindly choose some high volume developer and some ash blonde hair dye to keep the brassiness at bay. Because being super blonde is super awesome. Only it didn’t turn super blonde, it turned super orange. I decided to go and get a blonde highlighting kit from Walmart and some toner in an attempt to de-orange. I did get a lot less orange but I also got a lot more blonde. I am not really looking forward to my roots growing in. You’d think I would have learned my lesson when I tried this a bunch of times in my early 20′s.
2. My three-year-old’s fabulous whining stage. How can one little dude whine so much in a day? Doesn’t he realize when my face is contorted into something that resembles a freakish monster and turning a deep dark shade of crimson at the same time, that he may want to stop to save his life?
3. Realizing there were roller skates left behind my car after I ran them over. May they rest in peace.

Because no post is good without a picture, here is one of the two older kids getting along. I have to document these moments just so my feeble mind can remember that they actually do love each other once in awhile.

Have a great weekend everyone!

These sweet little angel girls were about a month old when they came to see me and were still so small and dainty. They both were super easy going and sleepy and I had so much fun photographing them. Being a twin myself (I have a brother), I always find it so fun to take pictures of other twins. The last three sets of twins I’ve photographed have all been girls though!!! Lots of pink and frills make for pretty pictures.

I had to show one with momma, because I mean seriously, who the heck looks this good right after having twins?!?!?
