I found some amazing light through our orange trees and captured this magical moment between my oldest and youngest. Even though my kids fight all.of.the.time, it’s moments like this that warm my heart and make me realize that they might love each other just a little bit.

I am normally very drawn to color and the colors of the sunset in this picture are amazing. However, the clothes they both were wearing from the day clashed big time and really took away from the magic of the image. . . hence, a black and white. Don’t get me wrong, I love a great black and white image, I just hate to miss out on the those fabulous, warm sunset tones.

Head on over to the fabulous Stephanie Moore | Tucson Baby Photographer to see her vision for “Let’s Get Close”.

I really could not have asked for anything better. I met so many awesome people through my business and while I didn’t get a chance to blog them every single session, I sincerely appreciate each and every client of mine. I am so thankful to all of you who chose me to capture your family this past year. I had so much fun seeing babies, who I photographed as newborns, grow up or families that I hadn’t seen for a year change so much! I am so thankful for all of my clients who value what I do and who have been so easy to work with. YOU all make this job so enjoyable and fun for me! So, thank you from the bottom of my heart to each and every one of you!!!

Here’s a taste of most of the sessions I did in 2011! I may have left out a few, but just take a look at all of the beauty I was so privileged to capture behind my lens this past year. I can’t wait to see what 2012 has in store! Happy New Year everyone!

P.S. I had a good giggle that there is only one black and white image in the whole series. . .I think I must be drawn to color??

We had allll kinds of people stopping on the beach just to take a look at them. And you know what the BEST thing is about my cousin? She is SO down to earth and silly. Her and I are kindred spirits and always have been growing up. She makes me laugh and we have allllll kinds of crazy fun together. Their family moved away a few years ago and we sure miss them terribly. I am so lucky to have such a fun extended family. . .it makes life so much more exciting and laughter is always abundant when we are together. Yes, I put a lot of pictures of her dancing (she was modeling how to dance on the beach for her girls), but they make me giggle and I just wish I could have been dancing on the beach with her.

He was conked out the entire time and let me put him in a bunch of different positions without any qualms. Gotta love that!!! He also was scrumptiously cute so he was the all-around awesome package deal.

I had to post this first one just to show how big his feet are. . . this kid is going to be TALL just like his daddy!

Thanks Q family for having me capture this special time in your lives. . . little Chase is perfect and you both are so blessed!!!!!!

So awhile back, I did a post about things that made my day and things that broke my day here. I thought it might be fun to do that again and I had high hopes of doing it every week, but alas, I have issues with staying on any kind of schedule or regimen (cough. . .exercise. . .cough. . .eating healthy. . .cough. . .personal picture projects). It’s how I roll. Today I’m doing it for the whole week instead of just things for the day because let’s face it, my days aren’t always all that interesting.

Things that made my week:
1. Coffee-time with Friends. Oh how enjoyable it is to sit for hours on end chatting about anything and everything. Sometimes I wish I could go back to the era where the women hung out all day and cooked and knit. Only, I would switch the cooking and knitting to eating delicious food that is terrible for you and singing karaoke on the Wii.
2. My new Camelbak Water Bottle. I hate drinking water, but this bottle makes it a little less terrible. The bite valve is kind of like chewing gum and makes you keep drinking water because you can’t stop biting it. Or maybe that’s just me.
3. The cleaning lady came this week. Nuff said.
4. Mongolian Grill food. This stuff is SOOOOOOO good and so fresh. Oh yea, and there is a Starbucks right next door. Now that is smart marketing for freaks like me can’t get enough beef and coffee.
5. Finally finding the culprit of the odd-smelling object in the car. It was a sippy cup of old milk lodged under the back seat. Being a mom is super glamorous!

Things that broke my week:
1. Salon de Kristin Rachelle. So I thought it would be an awesome idea to dye my own hair this week. I know for most people, going to the salon is like a mini-vacation. But for me, it’s the biggest pain in my butt there ever was. So I venture into Sally’s where there are a couple of really old ladies working who know NOTHING about hair dye. Oooooooook, alrighty then. I blindly choose some high volume developer and some ash blonde hair dye to keep the brassiness at bay. Because being super blonde is super awesome. Only it didn’t turn super blonde, it turned super orange. I decided to go and get a blonde highlighting kit from Walmart and some toner in an attempt to de-orange. I did get a lot less orange but I also got a lot more blonde. I am not really looking forward to my roots growing in. You’d think I would have learned my lesson when I tried this a bunch of times in my early 20′s.
2. My three-year-old’s fabulous whining stage. How can one little dude whine so much in a day? Doesn’t he realize when my face is contorted into something that resembles a freakish monster and turning a deep dark shade of crimson at the same time, that he may want to stop to save his life?
3. Realizing there were roller skates left behind my car after I ran them over. May they rest in peace.

Because no post is good without a picture, here is one of the two older kids getting along. I have to document these moments just so my feeble mind can remember that they actually do love each other once in awhile.

Have a great weekend everyone!

These sweet little angel girls were about a month old when they came to see me and were still so small and dainty. They both were super easy going and sleepy and I had so much fun photographing them. Being a twin myself (I have a brother), I always find it so fun to take pictures of other twins. The last three sets of twins I’ve photographed have all been girls though!!! Lots of pink and frills make for pretty pictures.

I had to show one with momma, because I mean seriously, who the heck looks this good right after having twins?!?!?

Check out my new blog here HERE. You can also keep up on the latest news about these actions or future action sets on my Facebook page for Photographers HERE since I won’t be using this blog much for this purpose!

I’ve decided to extend the coupon code for $10 off using Fresh10 to 25 more people since this launch has been so successful and fun! Also head on over to the new blog to find out how you can win a set of these actions!

Here are my little things so far this week!

The little things that made my day:

1. Little notes and comments from friends and strangers saying the nicest things. . .I think it’s amazing that people will go out of their day to email me or comment and say something that makes me smile from ear to ear! Thank you!
2. My 3 year old falling asleep on my lap at bedtime instead of in his bed. I held him for a long time after because I know it won’t be long until this won’t happen anymore. <3
3. My kids playing for about an hour last night with NO fights or injuries and a lot of laughs instead. Booyah!
4. Starbucks Iced Coffee. I know, I know, I overplay it. But it makes me happy and that in turn, makes my family happy. It’s a win-win situation.
5. Facetime. I never knew how much I could laugh from making funny faces and burping with a good friend of mine all the way over in Vermont. Even her 7 year old and my 7 year old had a good ole time meeting each other and burping in each-others faces. (What, that’s not normal?)

The little things that broke my day:

1. McDonald’s Shamrock Shake. I was so excited to try one of these, because I LOVE Mint, but it was an epic McFail. I’m not going to lie, it tasted like a mixture of cleaning solution and mint ice cream gone bad. Sad times for me.
2. Doing kettle-bells and pulling a back muscle. . .what am I like 80 years old now? My husband is an AVID cross-fitter and I try and do it twice a week b.c I know he loves that I am doing something he loves. Aren’t I sweet? (His own X-fit blog can be found HERE).
3. Finding a note that my 7 year old wrote with the names of her “crushes”. Say what? I’ve prayed every day she wouldn’t be boy-crazy like me. . .looks like I will get a taste of the medicine I made my mom and dad drink for years. Sweet. (I blame the boy who tried to kiss me inside the tires at school in 1st grade. . .you know who you are ADAM)
4. TMJ . What do you mean I can’t chew gum? And seriously, did I really have to inherit ALL of my families problems?

What little things made or broke your day this week?

xoxo,

Kristin

P.S. My baby celebrated his 3rd birthday last week, here’s one pic from our little session together. I’ll be sure to share more soon!
