I am rarely in a pic with my kid’s so I thought I would share this one this week. My awesome hubby took it for me at the park yesterday. Unfortunately, M was not in the best of moods and had just gotten into trouble for her attitude, hence the sullen expression. That’s ok though because I still love it despite her turd-ism.

Bray turned five yesterday, I can’t believe how fast time flies!!! He’s such a good boy (most of the time) and I cannot imagine life without him. We are celebrating his birthday pretty much all week. . .lucky little dude!!!

Yes, I missed last week.Boooo. Oh well, I’m still truckin along!

I am in a total blogging funk and I need to get out of it!!! I took some shots of my gorgeous niece for her 8th grade graduation and that was during week 19, so I figured I’d share one from that. I’ll share more later of her!!! I would love to get into taking senior pictures more, but need more time first. Not sure if that will ever happen, lol.

I also may only be taking 2-3 sessions a month from now on as I’m going to be doing some more online behind-the-scenes stuff for a photography forum I belong too.I’ve been a moderator/guide there for quite some time and run the Facebook and Twitter parts of it, but now will be doing some other cool things I hope to tell you all about soon. Super excited about that and hoping I can balance it all!

Ok without further yacking, here’s my niece.

And one of my little dude. He was eating an apple if you’re wondering what’s in his mouth, but I thought his dimples were too cute not to share! He’s growing up too fast and it’s making me sad. I love having a baby in the house and he’s not really a baby anymore. Although I still call him “the baby” and Madyson likes to say “he’s not a baby MOM”. Ah girls!

This past week has been insanity! Beach session for a beautiful lady’s 90th birthday with her family, preschool pictures for about 70 kids, and I have two family beach sessions in the next two days. I’m living on an IV filled with coffee so if you see me walking on the ceiling, you’ll know why.

This week’s pic is of my boys.Little C needs a haircut so bad, but he FREAKS out at the sight of the scissors and razor. He doesn’t have the same wavy hair as Bray, his hair kind of sticks up straight! LOL. Anyone have a straitjacket I can borrow?

My studio space is finally finished and from now on I will be booking most of my newborn sessions there.I still have some decorating to do, so I will post pics of it once I’m finished. It will be so nice to have all of my blankets and newborn props all in one place from now on. It will also be soooo nice to have amazing natural light available and adequate space for all of my studio sessions. I like shooting with lights too once in awhile, but I just love me some good natural light. Here is one of Bray on a completely overcast day in the studio. Saweeeeeeeet ain’t it? And he’s pretty darn cute too.

Today we had the Dutch Festival at the school where my mom went, I went, and now my kids go to. My grandparent’s helped start the school many, many years ago and have been an integral part in it’s growth over the years. Madyson even has the same first grade teacher I had. . .she is one of the BEST teachers out there hands down.

One of the great traditions of the school is the Dutch Festival. It is a day filled with Klompen dancing, stroopwafels, oliebollen, and many more yummy Dutch treats. My dad is the auctioneer for the Live Auction and has done that every Festival as long as I can remember. There is also a ton of great games for the kids and over the years, the games have become pretty darn cool! My grandparent’s even get dressed up in their Dutch attire complete with Klompen shoes and sit on the stage in their pretend Dutch house!It’s a great way to remember where I came from and it makes me remember the sacrifices my grandparent’s made to give us the life we have now. We are truly blessed and I am proud to be a part of that heritage!

I think pictures like this of Madyson give me a glimpse into what she will look like in later years. I adore her eyes and the different specks of color in them.  She is my spitfire and I have no doubt the teenage years are going to be a wild ride with her.  I do know that even though she can be opinionated and stubborn, that she is also not going to take flack from ANY man and that she is going to be very successful when she grows up.

I couldn’t choose between color or black and white so I’m going to put both. It’s my blog and I can do what I want.

We had an awesome Spring Break vacation in Palm Springs this past week! We just got home today and I am SWAMPED, but I had to post this one of Bray from this past week at our friend’s house before we left.   Swinging is so much fun for kids and I remember loving it way back when. For some reason now it just makes me want to barf, haha! Hope you all have/had a wonderful Spring Break and have a wonderful Easter Sunday!

I missed two whole weeks! Yikes! Well, my excuse is that we moved and things have been a little insane. You all forgive me, don’t you? This week isn’t anything spectacular, but it does show you the face of the boy that I refer to you all lovingly as the destroyer.  As you can see, what comes with destroyer territory is a messed up face.  Just this week, the destroyer has eaten a whole entire pack of gum, pulled a chair to the toaster and stuck a knife in it trying to get a bagel out,  pulled his diaper off after doing his business. . .that was fun times, and I won’t even go into all of the things spilled or ruined by him.   Notice the bruise on his cheek and the owies on his eye, lip, and cheek. . .not to mention the scar from where he had stitches from falling on a branch.  He’s an active little dude and he will certainly have the scars someday to prove it! Luckily, he still manages to win us over with his cheeky grin, dimples, and snuggly bug demeanor.  Just look at that face. . .how can one get mad at him with a smile like that?!?!?!?
